Modern Greek Literature

Konstantinos Danopoulos is an Assistant Professor. He studied at the Department of Philology of the School of Philosophy at the University of Crete and holds a PhD from the Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies at the University of Cyprus. Between 1990 and 1992, he worked on the research project «Archive of Modern Greek Literature of the University of Crete». From 1993 to 1996, he worked as a Postgraduate Associate on the research project «Archive of Modern Greek Literature of the University of Cyprus» From 1997 to 2003, he was a member of the Special Teaching Staff at the Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies at the University of Cyprus. In 2005–2006, he received a postdoctoral fellowship from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) to compile the bibliography of the prose writer Thanassis Valtinos (published by Vivliopolion tis Estias in 2013). During the same period (2005–2006), he participated in the Operational Programme titled «Portal for the Greek Language and Language Education» of the Centre for the GreekLanguage. In 2007–2008, he worked at the National Book Centre of Greece on the digitisation of «Literary and Art Periodicals». His research interests include post-war Greek prose, literary text editions, the work of Andreas Kalvos, «Literary and Art Periodicals» bibliographies of authors, literary archives, and the literature of Cyprus. From 1997 to 2019, he taught Modern Greek Philology at the University of Cyprus, the University of Patras, and the Hellenic Open University. In recent years, he has focused on the study and publication of the works of author Thanassis Valtinos.
