Description and comparative study of the Slavic languages with emphasis on Bulgarian and Russian
Kamilla Yusupova is an Assistant Professor at Democritus University of Thrace, specializing in “Description and comparison of Slavic languages with emphasis on Bulgarian and Russian.” She holds a degree in Russian Language and Literature from the Department of Slavic Philology of Tashkent State University and studied with a scholarship at the Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy, and Psychology (pedagogical direction) at the University of Ioannina. She completed her postgraduate studies in Linguistics with a scholarship at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She holds a PhD from the Department of Language, Literature, and Culture of the Black Sea Countries at Democritus University of Thrace. The subject of her doctoral dissertation is: “Analysis of translation errors by Greek-speaking students learning Russian as a foreign language: A proposal for a didactic intervention.”
She has published three monographs with the publishing house NEOHEL – Modern Greek and European Studies: Methods of teaching foreign languages and the use of translation in learning Russian (2021), Pedagogical translation in Russian philology: A proposal for a didactic intervention (2021), Learning Russian through translation: A handbook for students (2021).
Research interests: comparative linguistics, Slavonic studies, translation studies, acquisition and learning of Russian, Bulgarian and Greek as foreign languages, ICT in foreign language acquisition & teaching, certification of foreign language competence, cultural studies.
